Inspect an image

Drop one PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF, up to 20 MiB.

Undo restores the previous report, filters and open groups after Clear or a filter shortcut. An accepted image replacement ends recovery.

Find camera details, dates and embedded properties

Choose a PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF. Search by field or value, select a metadata group, or use Location fields only to inspect detected location-related properties. Clear filters returns to the complete view. Downloads and copies always contain the complete report. EXIF, XMP and IPTC stay separate, so one source does not silently overwrite another. If location-related fields are present, the report includes them. No image or coordinates are sent to a server or map service.

Read metadata with context

Metadata can be missing, edited, outdated or conflicting. A capture timestamp may lack a timezone; this viewer keeps the supplied text instead of guessing. Missing location fields do not prove that a file never contained location information. Some websites and apps remove metadata when sharing images.

Report scope and limits

Files up to 20 MiB are parsed in a cancellable worker with a 15-second deadline. Compressed metadata has a 2 MiB expansion limit. Reports are bounded to 2,000 fields, one million serialized field characters and 4,096 characters per string; shortening or skipped blocks are reported. Binary values, embedded thumbnails and proprietary MakerNote decoding are omitted or summarized. Raw XMP XML is not included.

PNG/JPG/WebP/GIF are supported. This is a metadata reader, not a full image-integrity check or an editor. The original stays unchanged. Processing stays in browser memory with no upload or saved draft. Cancel stops the worker while preserving the previous report. Undo restores a cleared report or the view before a filter shortcut, including search, selected group and open sections. An accepted replacement ends recovery. A failed replacement preserves the previous report.
