Choose a format for your task
- PNG: lossless encoding of decoded pixels, with transparency. Useful for screenshots and graphics; files may be larger.
- JPG: broadly compatible photos with a solid background. Choose a background if your image contains transparency.
- WebP: lossy color encoding with transparency. Compare detail and file size before replacing an original.
Inspect before saving
Choose an image and an output format, then convert. Toggle Original and Converted to compare. Use 100% size and scroll inside the preview to inspect text and fine detail. JPG and WebP quality 100 are still lossy. Converting a previously compressed image cannot recover lost detail.
Supported files and privacy
Still PNG, JPG and WebP only. Animated PNG/WebP is rejected instead of discarding frames. Use one image up to 10 MiB, 12 million pixels and 4,096 pixels per side. Dimensions are retained after orientation is applied. Metadata is removed. Native browser color management and encoding may vary; this tool is not an archival metadata or high-bit-depth converter.
Files stay in browser memory, with no upload or saved drafts. Cancel stops waiting and keeps available work. Undo restores the image, settings, comparison view and completed download after edits or Clear, until a successful conversion or accepted replacement. Native operations have 30-second wait deadlines and may finish in the background. Unsupported WebP encoding produces an error instead of a mislabeled file. An invalid replacement preserves your existing image and download.
