How to resize your image
- Choose one PNG or JPG image, or drop it into the file area.
- Enter a width or height, or apply a percentage from the original. Review the live target-layout preview. Keep aspect ratio locked to preserve the image’s shape.
- Select Resize image, check the preview, and download the result.
Example
A 1,600 × 900 image resized to a width of 800 becomes 800 × 450 with the aspect ratio kept. Turn the setting off to choose both dimensions independently; this may stretch your image.
Privacy and limitations
Files are decoded and resized in this browser. There is no upload or cloud fallback. Invalid replacements and cancelled or failed processing preserve available work. Dimension changes hide obsolete output; Undo changes restores your source, dimensions, scale draft, preview and download after edits, Reset or Clear. Successful resizing or an accepted replacement ends recovery. Preparation and resizing waits have 30-second deadlines; native work already running cannot be forcibly interrupted. Output is limited to 4,096 pixels per side and 12 million pixels; input is limited to 10 MB, 12 million pixels and 16,384 pixels per side to reduce memory pressure. Initial dimensions use the original size, reduced only when export limits require it.
Enlarging an image does not restore missing detail. JPG is lossy even when dimensions stay the same. Browser encoding and color management can vary; metadata is not preserved. EXIF orientation is applied by the browser. Animated PNG input exports a still frame. SVG, GIF, HEIC and WEBP are not supported in this release.
Will transparent areas stay transparent?
Yes, PNG output preserves transparency. JPG cannot contain transparency.
Can I resize several files at once?
This tool processes one image at a time to keep memory use bounded.
