A full minute from your first committed input

  1. Choose English or Tamil, then start. Begin typing the reference to start the 60-second clock.
  2. Type carefully, following the highlighted passage above the input. Corrections are allowed. Live numbers are provisional until the deadline.
  3. Wait for the full minute to finish, then review/download results. Cancelling ends an early attempt without a final score and keeps your text for review. Reset clears it.

Full-duration assessment

This page fixes the duration to 60 seconds and does not issue a partial-duration score. Even completing the reference early keeps the clock running; extra text counts as errors. The reference exceeds 3,000 English graphemes or 1,000 Tamil graphemes. If you reach its end, keep the completed text until the deadline. Use the general speed test for manual early finishing and duration choices, or the untimed accuracy review to inspect positional mismatches.

Read your score

Gross WPM is final committed graphemes ÷ 5 for the full minute. Correct-position WPM uses matching graphemes only; final-text accuracy is correct ÷ typed × 100. Spaces, punctuation and newlines count. Missing suffix is unfinished reference, not a typed error; extra text is wrong. NFC-equivalent cluster values match without modifying raw text. Browser Unicode data, language and IME differences mean this is not a physical-keystroke or official examination score. Deleted mistakes are absent from final-text accuracy. An empty attempt does not start the clock or earn a score.

Local processing and interruption

No uploads, account, saved progress or leaderboard. JSON includes reference/typed text and definitions; Typed TXT preserves final committed text. Download or copy the separate summary for a readable score without the passage or your input. Limits: 20,000 UTF-16 units / 5,000 graphemes, valid Unicode and native segmentation. Pasting or dropping is permitted for unscored review and invalidates the attempt. Language changes, reset or hiding the tab discard unfinished scores. Hiding the tab preserves your typed text for unscored review.

Monotonic elapsed-time deadlines exclude input arriving at or after 60 seconds, even when callbacks run late. Provisional IME composition is not scored until committed; unfinished composition is excluded at the deadline. Device sleep/browser interruptions may affect practice; restart if interrupted. This is not cheat-proof proctoring. Live metrics and first-input timing follow the same explicit definitions as the general speed test; only full-duration completion is eligible here.
