Format a list without losing its meaning
In phrase mode, each line, comma or semicolon starts a new tag. “local business” becomes “#LocalBusiness” with the default setting. Existing mixed-case words are preserved except their first letter. Choose Keep original case if capitalization matters. Punctuation and emoji make a phrase a review item instead of being silently deleted; edit the source to choose the intended wording.
Caption mode extracts the contiguous letters, marks, numbers and underscores following # or #. It stops at spaces or punctuation and ignores ordinary prose. For example, “Hello #Coffee-time” extracts “#Coffee”; it does not infer “#CoffeeTime”. Review the source alongside the result before copying.
Understand the selection and report
Press a tag to exclude it, and press it again to include it. Undo selection retains 20 changes. Your source stays editable. Editing text or options clears stale results and resets selections. Clear and Try sample can be reversed with Restore input until your next edit; formatting options are retained.
Duplicates use NFC Unicode normalization and JavaScript lowercase comparison, retaining the first occurrence. This is not language-specific collation or a platform’s exact matching system. Sorting is Unicode character order. The count includes # and separators and measures Unicode code points, not a platform-specific caption limit.
Limits and platform guidance
Up to 20,000 UTF-16 units and 200 phrases or extracted tags, processed locally without uploads or saved drafts. The formatter requires at least one letter and supports Unicode letters, combining marks, numbers and underscores. It does not transliterate Tamil or other scripts. Numeric-only tags and unsupported characters are reported for correction.
X’s official hashtag guidance says spaces and punctuation prevent hashtags from working properly (reviewed 12 October 2026). Other services may parse characters differently. This tool formats your choices; it does not measure trends, validate platform limits or predict traffic. Use relevant tags and review the destination’s current requirements.
