Prepare a digital visa photo

  1. Check your application’s linked official guidance. Choose a recent, correctly lit original with a plain background and permitted appearance.
  2. Drag the preview or adjust crop position and zoom, prepare JPEG, then mark hair, eye and chin points or enter percentages to review composition yourself.
  3. Download and review the actual image before submitting through the official application.

This tool checks square dimensions, source resolution, opacity and encoded byte limits. It cannot assess a face, pose, clothing, recency, shadows, background quality or acceptance. No retouching, filters, background replacement or generated face.

Purpose-specific requirements

The US digital preset exports 600 × 600 JPEG in an sRGB canvas, within 54,000–240,000 bytes. Its minimum follows the stated maximum 20:1 compression ratio using 600 × 600 × 3 raw RGB bytes. Native JPEG encoders vary; the tool tries bounded descending qualities and rejects if none fits, without padding files. US digital composition calls for head height including hair at 50–69% of image height and eyes 56–69% from the bottom. Official US composition template.

India eVisa specifies square JPEG, minimum 10 KB and maximum 1 MB. This tool conservatively uses 10,240–1,000,000 bytes and chooses 600 pixels; that exact pixel size is a tool choice. The portal requires full face, open eyes, no spectacles, a plain light or white background, no shadows and no borders. It does not state a numerical head percentage in the linked requirements, so no US composition range is applied to India. Regular Indian visa and Indian passport requirements are different.

Custom mode exports a square JPEG at 100–1200 pixels and quality 0.95 with no official file-size rule. No enlargement: the selected source crop must contain at least the chosen pixel dimensions. Check that cropping is permitted for your application. For print sheets use the passport photo maker with its separate paper-application instructions.
