Attendance calculator

Check your attendance percentage, classes needed to reach your target, and how many of the remaining classes you must attend. Exact whole-class calculations with local downloads.

Check your attendance

Use the same class, course or attendance period for both counts.

Enter 0 if no classes remain. Leave blank to calculate how many future classes would be needed without a fixed end date.

Enter your counts and the target used by your institution.

Calculate attendance from counted classes

Attendance percentage = attended classes ÷ held classes × 100. For 30 attended out of 40 held, attendance is 75%. Enter whole classes or sessions that have equal weight. For a course with different session weights, use the institution’s counted units consistently; fractional units are not supported.

The target starts at 75% as an editable example, not a universal requirement. Enter your own policy’s percentage. Cancelled classes, excused absences and exemptions may be treated differently by an institution; enter the counts that its policy uses. This calculator does not establish exam eligibility.

How many classes do I need?

When below target, the tool finds the smallest whole number of consecutive future classes you would need to attend. Each attended class increases both the attended and held counts. Once you meet the target, it calculates how many further classes could be missed while staying at or above that exact target.

For 30 out of 50 at a 75% target, attending the next 30 classes gives 60 out of 80, exactly 75%. A 100% target cannot be restored after an already counted absence. With no classes held, the percentage is undefined; attending the first class establishes 100%.

Check a fixed remaining timetable

If you know how many classes remain, enter that count to see the minimum you must attend from those classes and the maximum you can miss. The final total is held + remaining. If attending all remaining classes would still fall short, the tool states that clearly and shows the highest possible final percentage. Blank and zero remaining have different meanings.

Precision and recovery

Counts accept 0–1,000,000 and targets 1–100% with up to two decimal places. Whole-class decisions use exact integer arithmetic, never a rounded display percentage. Display percentages round half-up to four decimal places. JSON includes the exact current fraction and input values. Editing invalidates old results; clear/example provide one Undo step for inputs and any calculated result, discarded by ordinary edits.
